Rediscovering God

I’ve been a Christian since birth, yet for many years, my understanding of God was… wrong. The God I grew up with—the one my parents and church spoke of—felt distant, strict, and even frightening. My faith remained stagnant, and church became an obligation rather than a place of growth. There were seasons when I seriously considered walking away from God altogether. I didn’t want the God I had been taught to fear. I didn’t want a God who seemed more concerned with punishment than with relationship.

About six years ago, everything began to change. I chose to give God another chance. This decision was not out of pressure but from a quiet longing to truly know Him. I began reading the Bible chronologically, allowing His story to unfold as it did in history, page by page, moment by moment.

The God I met along that journey was nothing like the God of my childhood. He is not a God who punishes every small mistake with illness or suffering. Instead, He is compassionate, patient, and deeply loving—a God who welcomes us back whenever we turn toward Him. He is not frightening, and I no longer approach Him with trembling or guilt of not being enough. Now, I come confidently to the mercy seat, bringing my weaknesses, worries, and failures, trusting that He truly cares.

Today, I am walking through the Bible with a journal in hand, seeking to know God more deeply with every passage I read. I long to be transformed—to align my heart, my thoughts, and my actions with His. My desire is to become more like Jesus, day by day. This blog is my way of sharing that journey with you. My hope is that as you read along, you’ll be encouraged to encounter God in a more personal and meaningful way. Perhaps, you’ll even walk this path of faith, reflection, and discovery alongside me.

Let’s explore the Bible together, one story, one verse, and one journal entry at a time.
